This past November, j2 Global Communications, Inc., announced that eFax has a fantastic patent-pending feature that a pilot group is testing which allows the user to find stored faxes in a matter of seconds. It is called the searchable fax feature.
The way it works is through a patent-pending process that automatically indexes all incoming faxes into an online database for storage. These stored faxes can then be viewed through the eFax Message Center from any Internet connection. These faxes can be called up by typing in specific words, phrases and/or numbers into the online search box.
Users are also able to a 'tag' or label their saved faxes with any term that is meaningful to the user, such as "Smith Project". When they needed to call up all of the faxes referring to the Smith Project, all they would have to do is search the eFax Message Center for "Smith Project", and all of the related faxes would be instantly available. If the user wants to label each fax with multiple tags, that is also doable.
If your company needs a more customized fax filing system, you can use personalized folders in the user's inbox. This system also offers the drag and drop feature of moving faxes from one folder to another.
This very useful process is hopefully going to be introduced to all eFax subscribers in the future. It will certainly be easier, more organized and convenient that printed faxes in a file cabinet!
